WW2 Auxiliary Fire Service AFS firemans cap badge

A scarce original Second World War pre 1941 period 'Auxiliary Fire Service cap badge'; die-cast chromium plated eight pointed star, with red enamel 'AFS' lettering to the centre. Very good condition, complete with original two loop fittings and split pin, no enamel loss.Height approx 40mm.In 1941 the 'Auxiliary Fire Service' and the local authority fire brigades were amalgamated to become the 'National Fire Service'.
