US Pre Civil War, Connecticut State Militia Wooden Drum Canteen

Original era manufacture. All wood construction with three thin leather straps to hold the canteen strap in position. Dark gray painted finish with a stenciled CS in faded white on one side. These were carried during the Mexican War, and as far back as 1810 by State Militias.
