National Association of Groundsmen NAG Sports Ground Union Badge 1934 to 1968

A scarce original early period 'National Association of Groundsmen lapel badge'; ornate gilt shield bearing white enamel tri part title surround 'NAG' monogram to centre on green enamel ground; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.GAUNT LONDON'. Very good mint condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, gilt finish remains bright.Height approx 23mm.Formed in 1934 by W H Bowles BEM, head groundsman at Eton College, became the 'Institute of Groundsmanship' in 1969 and the 'Grounds Management Association' in 2020.
