A scarce original First World War period 'Brighton Police Special Constable pin badge'; heavy duty gilt brass example with blue enamel title surround, convex gilt button style centre with embossed shield bearing two dolphins from the Brighton County Borough'; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt London'. Good condition, heavily polished centre, no enamel loss, good replacement pin, gilt finish remains bright.Diameter approx 35mm.
