Womens Institute WI Produce Guild home front badge circa 1939

A scarce original wartime period 'WI Produce Guild pin badge', silver plated title bar inlaind with turquoise blue/green enamelling. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel. Width approx 52mm.The Women's Institute Produce Guild was formed in 1939 with funding from the Government to encourage more home grown food, to preserve more fruit and vegetables and to improve cookery skills which was invaluable during the period of food rationing in the Second World War.
