Indian Army Surma Valley Light Horse Shoulder Title Badge by J.H.Johnson & Co Aligarh U.P

A good original 'Surma Valley Light Horse AFI shoulder title badge'; in the form of a die cast white metal 'S.V.L.H', the reverse impressed with makers details 'J.H.Johnson & Co Aligarh U.P'. Very good condition, complete with original two loop fittings and split pin.Size approx 45 x 14mm.Formed in 1880 as the 'SYLHET VOLUNTEER RIFLE CORPS' became the 'CACHER & SYLHET MOUNTED RIFLES' in 1883 renamed 'SURMA VALLEY LIGHT HORSE' in 1886 retaining this title until it was disbanded in 1947.
