A scarce original First World War period 'British Red Cross military uniform cap badge, worn by personnel serving overseas'; large gilt rectangular convex example, bearing very bold red cross on white enamel ground; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'ARMFIELDS BIRM' offical issue number '5687' and complete with original two loop fittings and split pin. Very good condition, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. Size approx 48 x 40mm.PLEASE NOTE THAT THE POSTCARD SHOWN IS NOT INCLUDED WITH BADGE.This photograph clearly shows this pattern of Red Cross cap badge been worn by members serving overseas whilst wearing military style uniforms.
