A rare original circa 1940's period 'Samuel Jones & Co Ltd gilt and enamel pin badge', in the form of a 'Camberwell Beauty Butterfly emblem adopted in 1912. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no enamel loss.Size approx 39 x 22mm.During the Second World War they produce Air Raid Precautions ARP Sealing Tape & Outfits for use on windows to prevent flying glass and poison gas.Founded in 1810 by Edward Jones1905 The factory started producing non-curling gummed paper.1912 Adopted the Camberwell Beauty Butterflyemblem.1920 Private limited company Samuel Jones and Co Ltd.1937 Adhesives tape manufacturers.1945 First company to produce self-adhesive labels in the UK.
