Womens Institutes WI For Home and Country WALES badge

A scarce original circa 1930's 'National Federation of the Women's Institutes badge', gilt brass gren enamel oval, the fretted centre bearing a red 'Welsh Dragon', flanked by enamel rose and Canadian maple leaf, with Welsh inscription 'FY NGWLAD A'M CARTREF' which translates (For Home and Country); the reverse impressed with maker's details 'FATTORINI & Sons LTD BRADFORD WORKS BIRMINGHAMused ' an address format used between 1933–1948. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.Height approx 21mm.
