A rare original early post 1922 period 'BBC Radio Circle 2ZY Orchestra lapel badge'; gilt brass title circlet inlaid with blue enamel, the centre depicting an embossed Gramophone Horn in black with '2ZY light blue scroll emerging on gilt seeded ground; the reverse impressed with early maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Hockley St Birmingham LT'. Very good condition, complete with original lapel buttonhole fittings, enamel with small nick in the 9 o'clock position, gilt finish remains bright.Diameter approx 27mm.Founded in 1922 as the 2ZY Orchestra.
