French WWI 1886/16 Lebel Bayonet & Frog. 282nd Combat Eng. Souvenir Lot

Original era manufacture. A very fine example of the classic WWI Lebel Rifle bayonet. Full length cruciform blade which runs straight and true. Brass grip, with a steel guard and operable locking mechanism.Dent-free, blue steel finished scabbard with some very light scattered surface corrosion. Very sound brown leather frog with a brass securing buckle.One of the souvenirs brought home from WWII by a US Army officer who served with the 282nd Combat Engineers.
