French WWI Artillery Captains Kepi

Original era manufacture. Nice quality hat with a dark black wool covered body, with three rows of gold wire rank trim and a thin gold wire brocade chinstrap. Artillery pattern side buttons, with an embroidered number 7 on the front. Black silk lining with a gold leaf makers mark in the crown. No moth damage to report, black leather sweatband is torn away from the hat body a bit on one side. Otherwise the hat displays very nicely.
