French WWI 1886/1916 Lebel Rifle Bayonet, Veterans Estate

Original era manufacture. AWWI production bayonet with an alloy grip, one of the souvenirs brought home by Sergeant H. Hederer, HQ Battery, 5th Infantry Division, Europe Campaign 1944-45. The blade has been shortened to 13 inch length, with a proper matching length scabbard. Fortunately the hooked guard was not removed in the process. The bayonet is quite clean, however there are numerous dents in the scabbard body, non-matching.
