French WWI 1886 Lebel Bayonet 2nd Pattern, Steel Grip

Original era manufacture. A very clean example cut down from its original length to a 13 inch cruciform blade. Produced without a quillon as the serial number is on the flat side of the lock mechanism. Unusal variant of a steel,rather than alloy or brass, grip. Light surface corrosion on the steel scabbard, no issues with the blade. Normal age and wear.
