French M1866 Chassepot Bayonet, St.Etienne 1871

Original era manufacture. A very clean example with a bright steel blade and black painted scabbard. Matching numbers 1302, guard to scabbard. The blade is bright with scattered areas of age darkening but no corrosion pitting, pleasing brass patina to the grip. Dent free steel scabbard with an old black painted finish over the original blue.
