Oberleutnant Helmut Rüffler earned the German Cross in Gold on December 3, 1942 and the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on December 23, 1942 as Oberfeldwebel und Flugzeugführer in the 4. Staffel/ Jagdgeschwader 3 'Udet'.The picture comes with a personal letter from Helmut.
