A VERY EARLY ALCOSO LIONS HEAD PARADE SWORD.

Description

I can't find a reference in the sword book for this exact sword, but in my opinion it is an early example of No 119. Hilt consists of a large and prominent lions head with red glass eyes. It's completely different from their model 119, an example I have already listed. Beautiful detail to the lions head and back strap. Crossguard has the same type of eagle as model Nr 119, but ever more detailed. Perfect grip with twisted triple wire. Nice black painted scabbard. Blade has no damage but is slightly dull, could clean up much better. Alcoso trademark is stamped into the blade and hidden under the crossguard langet, but is an EARLY smaller ALCOSO scales type. This sword dates from the very early 1930's, just after Hitler took over in 1933.
