Description

From my personal collection; I obtained this bayonet during the Covid pandemic when I used to put small business cards in the letterboxes in my town (Zulte). This bayonet was delivered at my doorstep and came straight of the attic, most likely left behind in 1944 with the retreat of Normandy. Worn K98 bayonet with very interesting matching serial numbers, as it was period renumbered on the scabbard (under the ffc42 maker mark) to fit the bayonet in the factory (so both have a 4696 marking). Both pieces are maker marked by ffc (Frederik Herder & Son) and dated 1942. The leather frog, also an interesting piece is made out of recycled leather material showing old stitching holes. Again, this piece has never been in a collection before and remains untouched – with periodical addepted serial numbers!SHIPPING ONLY IN MAINLAND EUROPE!
