Description

The B-5 Winter Helmet was introduced in 1933, and was declared Obsolete in September 1944.Helmet is in excellent condition, with no issues, other than the manufacture's label is partially damaged (see Mick Prodgers book page 35 of complete Photo)The leather skull is in excellent condition, with no issues, and both rayon draw are present, leather earcups have been fitted, and have been modified to allow the slightly larger ANB-H-1 to be fitted, and have the leather tabs attached to the snaps, but the tabs have not been sewn to the helmet. loom and plug are present, however the receivers have no manufactures marking?The original chin cup is present, and has been personalised (see photo 121076 NCL?) Both buckles are in excellent condition, and retain their black painted finish.The inside is again excellent condition, very clean with no loss to the fleece.No hooks or snaps have been fitted to the helmet at any time, so a Juliet harness or the like would have to be used to accommodate an oxygen mask.Lovely example of an inter war years USAAC flying helmet.Head & Goggles are not included in the sale.price includes postage to mainland UK only.
