Schweizer Kavalleriesäbel/ Berittene Artillerie Ord. 1852 (Wester & Co, Solingen)

In an excellent condition a Swiss cavalry ‎Sabre/ Artillery for mounted officers‎ Ordonnance 1852Portepee is the officers type for cavarly, but it is most likely from between 1870-1899. Normaly on these swords it had a leather knot portepee.‎Of the cavarly sabers of the Ordonnanz ‎‎1852 many were sold to the USA for use in the civil war. So these can also be found in the USA.The sabre is nicely marked Wester & Co. from Solingen on the ricasso. It has a red washer and a very nicely decorated guard from messing, the grip is from leather with wiring held into place.The blade and the scabbard are in an excellent condition.Maker marked gebrüder weyersberg solingen, Swiss cross (Acceptance mark) on the ricasso.The total size of the sword including scabbard are about 109 cm.
