WW2 Auxiliary Fire Service AFS officially numbered lapel badge & Box of Issue

A good original post 1940's period 'AFS silver plated red enamel buttonhole badge, in its original official box of issue with official low issue number '50106' to both badge and box. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel. An excellent example.Height approx 30mm. Box approx 39 x 39mm.Designed by Mr Paget of the Royal Mint and announced by the Home Office in 1938 the terms of its issue, the first being in 'Sterling Silver'.
