Description

Original era production and photography. An interesting grouping consisting of three named medals, the classic British trio of WWI, known affectionately as Pip, Squeak & Wilfred; 1914-15 Star Lieut. C.C.C.K. White RAMC, British War Medal Capt. C.C.C.K. White and British Victory Medal Capt. C.C.C.K. White. All are complete with their original ribbons, and portions of the original cardboard issue boxes; three tops, two bottom sections, all flattened from storage, the 3 tops have his name typed on.Forty-one, original WWI postcards, many in full color, all of a military theme, each one bearing a handwritten note from Captain White to his son back home in England. One card, dated 9-5-15, 26th Field Ambulance, reads 'Jim Dear, I got your letter today I was so pleased. I am not near Boulogne now ,but at the front. I am so glad when you are so well,and like you I hope the war will not be so long as I'd like to see my boy. Very fondest Love, Dad'.A British field map of Hazebrouck Belgim, printed paper mounted on a linen backing material.Lastly a tin of 'The Soldiers Friend, Earl Plate Paste', brass polish. Also included, is a rather poor copy of a photograph of a British officer, presumably Captain White.Excellent research project.
