Japanese 1894 - 1895 Sino Japanese War Medal Cased

Original era manufacture. Clean, darkened bronze medal with its original green/white silk ribbon, which has faded from age. Original issue, lacquered wood case, which by its design, likely dates to the 1st issue of the medal over a hundred years ago. Rectangular spot of red silk missing from the liner pad, caused by the removal of an adhesive price sticker. Closure latch missing from the end of the case. The victorious Japanese were able to gain control over the Korean peninsula previously under the control of Imperial China. The loss of which resulted in the 1911 revolution in China, and the end of the Qing Dynasty.
