St George For England patriotic badge by G.Kenning & Son London

A scarce original pre 1956 period fine quality 'St George For England gilt badge' bearing a figure of 'Saint George and the Dragon' with title ribbon scroll in blue enamel; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'G.Kenning & Son London' prior to (Toye, Kenning & Spencer Ltd circa 1962). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.Height approx 31mm.The Royal Society of St George was founded in 1894, with Queen Victoria as first Royal Patron, followed by the patronage of every reigning monarch upto Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
