He received the 1935 Silver Jubilee medal as a private with the 1st battalion of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment & then went with to serve during the Arab revolt in Palestine 1936-39. He served in the Middle East during WW2 & is recorded as having been wounded in Italy 19-2-1944 & after leaving the army at the wars end he settled in Preston & passed in 1987.NEF & mounted as worn.
