A very clear, full length CDV image of a Garde Mobile soldier wearing a simple peasant-type smock, belt equipments and leggings. He leans against a photographers chair, with his kepi placed on the seat.The backmark is of a photographer in the city of Belfort, which during the war of 1870-71, endured a prolonged German siege without ever surrendering until the armistice in February 1871.
