German WWII M1933 SA Enlisted Dagger & Hanger, Herm Konejung Mfg

Sold
$595.00

Description

Original era manufacture. An early production dagger with nickel fittings, and clear makers mark on the ricasso. The polished steel blade is in good condition, no corrosion issues, with a clear motto on the obverse.   The dark wooden grip retains both of its original emblems, with some minor marring and bumping from handling over the years, and a thin crack on each side, just below the upper fitting.Interestingly the original owner carved his name and hometown into the reverse of the grip, I can't quite make out his name (I. Kxxxx), but Kaiserslautern is quite clear. Early nickel finish upper & lower guards and eagle emblem, with the unit marking of HE (Hesse) on the lower fitting. The scabbard body retains most of its original finish, with light surface speckling from old corrosion, nickel throat and chape, with a dented ball tip. Attached to the suspension ring, is a pliable brown leather hanger with nickel fittings, displaying surface scuffing to the edges of the strap, otherwise very sound.
