German WWI Identified Prussian Officers Helmet Plate,

Original era manufacture. A very nicely done German officers souvenir, consisting of his Prussian Reserve pickelhaube wappen mounted onto an expertly carved, two color wooden disc. On the reverse are two period paper labels identifying the owner as a man who served in 2nd Thuringian Field Artillery Regiment Nr.56 1917-1918.His name is given but I cannot make out the writing. Just a beautiful piece of carving and staining on the mount, nearly all of the gilding remains on the eagle. One of the nice items we brought home from our recent trip to Germany. Measures 6.5 x 7 inches.
