German Imperial Miner's Buckle (Bergbau)

German Imperial Miner's Buckle (Bergbau)-This brass buckle has the design of the crossed hammer and pick with a crown. This logo was used by the Prussian Mining Association. This is the elongated two piece brass variant of Mining Association buckle. The crossed hammer, pick and crown are separately applied with two prongs on the reverse of the buckle. These have great detail and show very little wear. The roll bar is made of steel, but the unusual catch is made of a brass hook style. Very interesting early buckle in very good condition.
