Description

A rare piece of English artefact sold on behalf of the 'British & Foreign Sailors Society', made from a copper bolt from Nelson's Royal Navy Flagship 'HMS Foudroyant' which foundered on 'Blackpool Sands on the 16 June 1897'. This superb rare original badge in the form of a miniature Royal Navy cannon with applied copper disc depicting an embossed representation of the ship in full sail; the reverse impressed in relief 'Made From A Copper Bolt of Nelson's Flagship Foudroyant'. Very good condition, good patina, complete with pin fittings ACTUAL PIN NOW ABSENT .Length approx 50mm.Height approx 17mm.
