Japanese WWII, Imperial Guard, Army Officers Visor Hat

Original era manufacture. Officers quality, doeskin wool top with red wool piping and cap band. Attached to the front of the band, is a gilded brass, wreath and star, the emblem of the Imperial Guard. Domed, gilded brass side buttons decorated with a cherry blossom, black patent leather adjustable chinstrap.Black pigskin visor which has been dyed black with a bound edge. Black silk lining in the interior of the hat, with a black imitation leather sweatband. The sweatband has dried out over the years with some missing portions and cracking to the surface. There are a few small moth bites in the wool, the largest being about 3x3 mm, and located on the top front edge.The hat has not been crushed or broken, just normal age and wear.
