British War and Victory Medals,named to:3036 PTE.A.J.MARJORAM.NORF.R.Medals about very fine on short pieces of original ribbon.(entitled to the 1914/15 Star)Albert John Marjoram was born in 1893 in Gorleston Norfolk.He enlisted in the Norfolk Regiment on 15/09/1914 and arrived in Gallipoli on 06/08/1915 with the 1/5th Norfolk Regiment and as such he would almost certainly have taken part in the action at Kuchak Anafarta Ova after which it became known as the 'lost battalion' due to Colonel Beauchamp with 250 men and16 officers including the Sandringham Company 'disappearing' into a wood when they had advanced ahead of the rest of the battalion.(For further reading see 'All the King's Men' by Nigel McCreary.He was discharged on 01/09/1916 due to wounds.Entitled to the SWB no 10316.Comes with copied research
