Description

Hard to find first pattern pith helmet as worn by members of the German Afrikakorps and in other tropical regions such as Italy and Greece. A very desirable hat executed in green colored canvas (and not tan color). Complete with a matching set of aluminum insignia on both sides of the helmet. Full length chin strap is present and remains in good condition, this is also a very early strap with buckle. Size marked 57. Much harder to find than the second pattern in executed in felt. A solid pith helmet in nearly unworn condition!
