Description

Rare original field made Russian Peoples Liberation Army volunteer sleeve shield cut off a uniform. The ROA was brought to fruition by former Red Army general Andrey Vlasov, who tried to unite anti-communist Russians opposed to the communist regime in the Soviet Union. The volunteers were mostly Soviet prisoners of war but also included White Russians who apposed communism from the civil war. At its peak, the POA reached membership of 750,000 men. This patch features the cross of St. Andrew with a red background machine sewn onto feldgrau wool. Later applied to a bluish wool which heavily resembles that of the French horizon blue. These captured French uniforms were issued in the thousands to volunteer troops on the eastern front. A very unique piece, textbook in construction and far superior to the printed version most commonly seen. (Shield and thread do not glow under UV light).
