This beautiful Dutch helmet is in used condition and was used by the Dutch Red Cross or medical department of the civil air defense force during World War II.It has several bullet holes on the front and back. The Dutch Red Cross during World War IIDuring World War II, the Netherlands Red Cross (Nederlandse Rode Kruis, NRK) remained active under difficult circumstances. Despite the Nazi occupation, the organization continued to operate, focusing primarily on medical assistance, support for prisoners of war, and sending so-called Red Cross messages — short communications between family members separated by the war.The NRK worked in cooperation with the international Red Cross movement but had to conform to the restrictions imposed by the occupying forces. As a result, the Red Cross was limited in its ability to intervene in the most distressing situations.Article number: 14399
