Last Ditch German Mess Kit M45 EB

Extremely late war German mess kit, sometimes referred to as the M45 although this is not official. This is one of the last simplifications made to the kit by removing the steel closure/handle from the lid. These are fairly rare, but do turn up from time to time. This, is the second one I have found. It is engraved with the initials EB. There are no maker markings on the bails which is also something fairly common for late war mess kits as many standards started to go out the window. This one is used, with wear and some dents.
