Wehrmacht Gebirgsjäger Medical Box

Wehrmacht Gebirgsjäger Medical Box (Gebirgs-Sanitätskasten). The hardboard and steel construction tan painted box is nicely maker marked and dated 'rtm 1944'. The box is showing a late war tan paint with a medical red cross on front with the text 'Binden, Flüssigkeiten' (bandages and liquids), some unit markings are painted on the box as well. These boxes could be carried on a special carrying frame by mules (Maultier). Rare and decorative original mountain trooper's medical box!
