BWRS Bundles For Britain American war workers badge

A scarce original Second World War period USA charity aid to Great Britain official 'Bundles For Britain pin badge' gilt shield bearing British lion and Latin motto 'Dieu et mon droit' (God and my right) over red, white and blue hand painted enamel. Very good condition, complete with original single screw post and nut fitting.Height approx 25mm.Bundles for Britain was started in 1940 by Mrs. Latham as a knitting circle in a store front in New York. By 1941 they were shipping ambulances, surgical instruments, medicines, field-kitchen units to aid people in Great Britain bombed out of their homes.
