Here on offer is an unusual antique baluster shaped, lead weighted wooden cudgel or truncheon, circa 1870.This unusually shaped truncheon looks to have been made from walnut and is possibly an early unmarked police version?It has a ribbed shaft that is still fitted with what looks to be its original string loop.The baluster shaped cylindrical top section, has been ebonised and a cylindrical section of lead has been inserted into the top, making this a weighty weapon.It is in great condition, with just a small section of wood missing at the top by the loop hole and just a few age-related usage dents.It measures 12.75' (32.4cm) long by 1.75' (4.5cm) diameter at the wide end.It weighs 285g.Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.Please see my TERMS OF BUSINESS regarding Deliver Charges and Insurance regarding additional insurance cover, should you require it, BEFORE the item is dispatched.The responsibility lies with the customer to check with your Customs restrictions that this item can be imported into your country.
