Here on offer is a rare original WW2 period 'Handy M.P Knife' that still retains most of its original black paint.I am led to believe these knives were used as a concealed utility knife by military personnel during WW2 and where part of the kit issued to RAF pilots, to aid with their escape, should they become captured.This unusual type of folding knife uses a disposable razor blade as its cutting blade and wire stripper. It also has a small circular magnifying glass and a spike point as part of the folding blade holder.It does retain a period GILLETTE razor blade, which is still sharp!On one side it is stamped with:HANDY M.P KNIFEMADE IN ENGLANDand on the other side, around the screw is stamped a Registration Design number,REGd 795128This relates to the years 1935/6 when this design was originally registered.This example is in great working condition with some minor scratches and paint loss to the black paint.The knife measures 3.6' (9.1cm) long when open, including the spike and 2.4' (6cm) when closed.It weighs 7g.Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.Please see my TERMS OF BUSINESS regarding Deliver Charges and Insurance regarding additional insurance cover, should you require it, BEFORE the item is dispatched.The responsibility lies with the customer to check with your Customs restrictions that this item can be imported into your country.
