Machine-woven silk tally, 86cms long, with the ship's name 'M/S Bergensfjord' between the Norwegian national flag and the Norwegian-America Line flag.The M/S Bergensfjord was an ocean cruise liner built on the Tyne in 1955 by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd, for the Norwegian America Line. She had a gross registered tonnage of 18,739 and could carry 878 passengers. After a relatively busy but uneventful career with her original owners, she was sold to the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique in 1971, renamed and sold twice more before being sold to the Aphrodite Maritime Co. She sank at her moorings in 1980 after a fire broke out on board.
