Description

Rare William IV officers hallmarked silver cross-belt plate with screw bolts to the reverse removed and two silver ' prongs' to allow it to be displayed upright affixed to the reverse. The number, '60' and a strung bugle horn to the centre of a circlet bearing the title on a maltese cross with honours to each arm surmounted by the crown upon the main honour tablet, ' Peninsula' The right arm of the cross bears makers details for ' D M ' and London hallmarks for 1836. Accompanying the plate is a studio photograph of the original owner wearing his uniform showing the cross-plate and his medal. The photograph was taken in Valetta Malta by Richard Ellis photographer by Royal Appointment to H.R.H.The Duke of Edinburgh and H.R.H. The Grand Duke of Hesse.
