Description

Found in two sizes, 55mm tall and 40mm tall, this is the latter smaller pattern. Two original loops, maker's tablet JR Gaunt / London (slightly lifting and truncated). Die struck gilding metal example with sharp detail. All fiddly bits present and correct. Collar badges were of a different design.Formed 1911. Saw action in Gallipoli, Sinai and Palestine 1916-1919. Amalgamated with the 1st Mounted Rifles (Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry) in 1921.Cox no 2908 / Corbett p158 / Oldham No 5/58 (p60) refer (This is the smaller pattern shown in Oldham).G174.9
