British Red Cross Society VAD Trained Nurse technical medal pair Annie C. Gordon

A scarce original full size early issue 'British Red Cross Society technical badge' with 'Trained Nurse' bar, the reverse impressed with official low issue number '42' and inscribed to the recipient 'ANNIE C.GORDON' together with her early issue Proficiency in Nursing medal. Very good condition, complete with original silk ribbons and pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.The British Red Cross Society Technical badges were instituted in 1914 and were eligible to members of the Voluntary Aid Detachments with professional qualifications, they were discontinued in the mid 1960's.
