Japanese WWII Bamboo Truncheon

Original era manufacture. This is our best guess on this rather somber item, as it came with a grouping of other WWII Japanese tools and artifacts recently purchased by SMA.Thick bamboo body, weighted, with a thickly wrapped leather knob end, and leather wrapped handle with wide leather wrist strap, and a smaller, braided leather strap towards thebusinessend of the truncheon.Rather a grim artifact, excellent for a POW display. Normal age and wear, with some dryness to the wide leather strap.
