Wooden Handle Trink Coca Cola Bottle Opener

Sold
$39.00

Description

German period Trink Coca Cola advertisingwood handlebottle opener in decent condition. Some wear to the finish on the wood and some discoloration on the opener. A little difficult to date. I believe this to be a pre war example, as it came from behind the former iron curtain and was with other items that dated to the 1930s/1940s. While openers of this type existed before and after the war, they would have only been prevalent in Eastern Germany before the war. Coca Cola was extensively advertised in Germany in the late 1920's - early 1930's; there are plenty of fun photos of Wehrmacht soldiers and even pictures of SA men enjoying a cold Coke on a hot day. Eventually the German branch would split from Coke and rebrand itself as Fanta during the Third Reich period.
