Description

Iron Cross 1st Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse) that comes on its original 2-piece screw-back disc (Schraubscheibe). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The first class medal was for award to personnel who performed three to five acts of bravery in combat, and had already been awarded the Iron Cross second class. The cross has a three piece construction. The cross is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to production by the company of 'C.E. Juncker' from Berlin. The cross comes on its original and naturally functional 2-piece screw-back set-up consisting of a screw and pressure plate. The cross is in good used conditon. A great looking cross by one of the most desirable makers!
