Description

Original era manufacture. A great looking Samurai helmet dating from the late Edo period of Japanese history, 1603-1868. The helmet is quite sound, with a moldedskull, crinkle finished visor and a three band neck guard, held in place with blue cloth lacing. There are hand painted, family Mon, on the two side projections, with a brass boss atthe top of the helmet. Portions of the original leather sweatband remain, but thecloth liner has been removed. The padded cloth chinstrap is a newer replacement.
