A scarce turn of the 20th century 'Conservative and Unionist Association political badge'; small gilt brass ornate title surround inlaid with blue enamel and inscribed 'Blackburn Conservative and Unionist Association', 'Union Flag' to centre inlaid with red, white and blue enamel with patriotic statement 'EMPIRE & PROGRESS'; the reverse impressed with early maker's details 'Vaughton Bolton' and retaining the round lapel fitting associated with the Victorian / Edwardian period lapel badges. Very good condition, no damage to the enamel.Diameter approx 24mm.
