A BEAUTIFUL NAVY DAGGER WITH MATCHING STRAPS & KNOT IN MINT CONDITION THROUGHOUT.

Very difficult to find these daggers for sale any more in this condition. Has never been in a collection and was purchased from a family near Margate. The dagger is made by Eickhorn and has the more unusual later squirrel trademark used by them after 1942. The squirrel looks back over its shoulder.All brass construction BUT it has its complete original finish of fire gilding over the brass. This is how they looked when new, but age, time and wear usually affects it and it rubs off. Perfect eagle pommel, mint celluloid grip with twisted brass wire. The original 'cellon' cream navy knot is tied in place and like the rest of the dagger, shows no age or wear. Blade has the full standard grey anchors and dolphins etc., with mint nickel plated blade surface. The scabbard has ALL the fire gold finish with just a very small surface dent in the middle, thst probably has happened post-war. Attached to the scabbard rings are its original blue moire cloth hangers. Again in totally mint condition. The aluminium fittings all have full gilding and matching lions head buckles etc. Stunning!
